There’s nothing quite like taking a cold stroll after a fresh snowfall, when your neighborhood’s streets have been changed into a winter season wonderland. If the snowflakes aren’t yet falling in your locale, get your fix by creating a winter season town that mirrors the beautiful sight. Using our winter season town template, it’s easy to make a DIY home speckled with snowflakes; depending on the size you choose, you’ll “construct” a mini design or a hangable ornament. In either case, with some craft glue, a chipboard, and great powder glitter, you can produce the snowy scene of your childhood dreams from the convenience (and heat!) of your own home.

\nWhat You’ll Need
\nMaterials
\nWinter season village design template
\nGlue stick
\nChipboard
\nGlassine
\nCraft glue
\nEnergy knife
\nLatex primer
\nTempera or latex house paint
\nFine glass glitter or fine powder glitter
\nInstructions
\nTo produce a village home, increase the size of among the design templates by 140 percent. For a home accessory, use the template at 100 percent. Cut out the specific design template components, and using a glue stick, gently affix them, with their printed lines showing, to sheets of chipboard. Cut along the design template’s strong lines utilizing an utility knife, guiding the blade with a straightedge. Rating along the dotted lines. Pull the remains of the design template far from the chipboard.<\/p>\n

\nFold the chipboard pieces so the scored lines are on the outdoors edges of the folds. Cut rectangular shapes of glassine to about 1\/2 inch larger than the window holes on all sides, and glue them to the inside walls. Lay a bead of craft glue along each tab, and join the tabs to their nearby surface areas. Assemble the steeple, vestibule, or any dormers, and apply. Leave the door panel unattached.<\/p>\n

\nPrime the house, outdoors and in, with latex primer. Use tempera or latex house paint for the surface coat. Paint the home (outside just) and the door panel.<\/p>\n

Brush craft glue along the white-painted snowy ridges. Utilizing a spoon, sprinkle with opaque white glitter. Let dry. Coat the remaining surfaces of the house (leaving out windows) with craft glue.
