Confetti Eggs

Whether you choose to shatter them over someone’s head or to show them in a decorative vacation basket, these vibrant eggs are sure to be a remarkable addition to this year’s celebrations. For this project, you will blow out eggs, and then color them in any color of the rainbow (permitting them to dry on a pin-board) before covering them in fringed paper.

What You’ll Need
Materials
Eggs
Food coloring or powdered egg dye
Scissors
Craft glue
Cardstock
Tissue paper
String
Craft knife
Paper clip
Funnel (optional).

Using a craft knife, poke a small hole at the bigger end of an egg, approximately 3/4 inch wide. Slip an unfolded paper clip through the hole and pierce the yolk, mixing the yolk into the egg whites.

Cut tissue paper into 1/2-inch-wide strips, and use fringe scissors to cut strips into fringe. Beginning at the extremely bottom, draw a narrow ring of craft glue around the egg and carefully location pieces of the tissue fringe along the glue; cut off excess fringe. Repeat up the egg, spacing fringe strips 1/8 inch apart.

Using a funnel, fill the egg about halfway with ready-made confetti or with your own homemade variation (just cut up several sheets of tissue paper into tiny squares).
